The River in winter

Our neighbor to the north sent us a picture of our dock covered in snow. It looks like the river is freezing near the edges. We hear that some winters it freezes all the way across.

The McMorrow Family

Tom's sisters and families were also spending Christmas in So Cal so we got together for lunch in Dana Point. Back to front on the right; Tricia, Shannon, Marilyn, Don, Jeannie and grandson.
We reorganized outside for another picture.

Tom can't even sit still long enough for his niece to get a nice family picture.

Christmas day with the family

I was so busy with Avalon and Waylon and having fun I forgot to take very many pictures but here are a few special ones.

Announcing Avalon's Arrival

A beautiful winter day for Avalon to come home.

Waylon visits at the hospital

We drove Waylon to the hospital and he seemed less than excited about a new sister, but he was really glad to see his parents. We were relieved when he was ready to go home without any fuss.
The ballon announcing a baby sister was the highlight of the visit.Everyone in bed together.

Avalon Eleanor Davis born 12/21/07

This picture was taken when Avalon was less than 2 hours old. Anna makes it look like it was sooo easy.

All of us in the room.

A beautiful family, being recorded. For more pictures look at Anna's blog www.davisfamilyphotos.blogspot.com It may take a few days for photos.

More beach time with Waylon

There were so many great pictures of my two favorite boys that I couldn't decide. I actually only added a few of the many pictures I took. As you look at these pictues of water play keep in mind these were taken Dec. 18th. There really are good reasons why So Cal has so many people.

Waylon loved pointing to the birds and planes flying by.
Both were very hard at work.
Waylon would try to cover the mounds with his bucket usually destroying them as fast as Tom made them.
The sand castle project had noises and a plan that made sense to them.

More views from Doheny CG

The man who appears to be walking on water was actually standing on what looked like a surf board and used a long paddle to go across the bay. We saw him several days but this picture had such a different look I couldn't resist. Watching the sun set from our new camp site. We moved up to the front row and plan to get reservations next year for this row.
We awoke to rain the next morning.

Waylon joins us for the day 12/13/07

Waylon loved the beach, filling buckets with sand then dumping them. Waylon was a joy to spend the day with, always a smile and went down for a nap without a complaint.Tom and Waylon hang out after his nap.

TV seems to fascinate both of them.

When we left San Diego we went to the Oceanside Elks which was nice but no ocean views and too far away from San Clemente. Anna drove me around to all of the San Clemente campgrounds and we fell in love with this one in Dana Point. We had not found this on line because it has a 34ft limit which seems to be totally ignored except in the on line description.A view of our site then below the view from our site near sunset.

Leaving San Diego 12/9/07

We spent the last few days in rain and wind so it was easy to move on. The birds sitting on the sand behind Tom were hopeful we would have bread or treats that we would give away as we left. In the background the hills are covered with snow.

Unique RV

I just got an email from Fritz showing me a rig like this. We saw this RV in Borrego Springs and then it showed up in San Diego. They have the German Flag flying so probably a foreign rig. You could go anywhere in this. (Randy, have you thought about this?)

Too tall to see if they had solar panels.

Visiting Waylon Dec 5-7

I drove from San Diego to San Clemente to spend time with Anna, Waylon and baby sister. I got to go to the doctor with Anna and see the Sona gram of Baby sister with the heart beat and everything, very exciting. Waylon and I spent time playing. Waylon gives his big smile for the camera.

The Silver Strand Campground

We enjoyed great weather and relaxation on the beach. Tom worked on his bike and we just enjoyed hanging out.
Then the park ranger decided we needed to be protected from the water and our view was blocked.Working hard to move the sand.
They blocked everything so we could only see the water when we stood up in the rig.

After the gathering

We are staying at Peg Leg to play more golf, enjoy the great weather, views and wait for the gathering at the Silver Strand in San Diego, Dec 2-9th A few other WINs stayed here too as seen in the background.

Just hanging out

Andy P made breakfast for our group as one of the many things we did while staying at Peg Leg Smith's Bobbe had an emergency with a fire in her propane heater and she shows us the results.

Golf in Borrego Springs

Tom and Bobbe waiting to putt
The Road Runner Golf Course is the perfect course for me. No hole is over 200 yds so I have a chance to score well. I had a few pars and one birdy. Long courses just kill me. Tom and I are playing even here at the Road Runner but on other courses he has to give me a stroke a hole.

Bobbe and Linda among the trees.
