Jojoba Hills

Rainy days make beautiful sunsets. On Monday Tom played golf in Hemet with the boys from the park. Tuesday morning we were awakened by sounds of rain. After sleeping in very late, Tom started figuring out why the ice maker and livingroom heater are not working.
About 2:00 we went to town and visited walmart then Home Depot. Still buying for the Mammoth bathroom remodel. We are expecting friends to visit in the next few days then Sat. or Sun. we are headed north to enjoy the amazing snow dump.

Waylon's 1st Birthday

We drove to Temecula - Jojoba Hills on Sat. Feb. 24th then Sunday we drove to San Clemente for Wayon's birthday. My sister, Tina and her son Doug were there and my younger brother Tom and his family attended so we almost had a Thomas family reunion. Aaron's family, the Davis' were there too. We certainly got our fill of babies and enjoyed every minute of it. The next generation looks good.Waylon with his birthday cupcake. He wore it well. Actually he ate very calmly it was amazing and even more surprising it was the first sweet he had ever been given. Later he had a bit of a sugar high but not like most babies.
Opening presents was really fun. Wayon got a fantastic looking wood Harley motorcycle on rockers. Instead of a rocking horse, Tina supplied a Rocking motorcycle. I really messed up and didn't get any pictures but hopefully Doug will share the pictures he took.

Surviving the Storm

You know life is getting boring when you spend time watching the plow clear the parking. The storm lasted long enough we had to be plowed several times.
Tom watched TV and read while sitting in big red.

A BIG Storm - Thur. Feb. 22, 2007

These pictures were taken just minutes ago from out the window at the Condo. The storm is expected to last into Saturday, pause Sunday and then continue Monday. We are leaving Saturday and I will take pictures as we dig out to leave.

Our Drive to Bishop

Every time we drive near the Sierras I am amazed at the views. We are heading south on 395 Saturday for Waylon's birthday and we are looking forward to the scenery.

More Ski Pictures

Here are some more pictures from our ski day. The Wind blew wildly yesterday so we went to Bishop and enjoyed the warmer weather. The phone booth above is located by Chair 13 and most years there is so much snow that I didn't realize it was not on the ground but raised. I keep thinking I will drive to Reds Meadow and take a picture in the summer.
Tom skiing down our favorite run off chair 12. We had a great day.

We are SKIING!

We are finally well, there is great snow and the crowds have gone home. We had a great day skiing mainly at Chair 12 where there was no line. When we arrived there was a terrible line at Chair 2 but once we got up the mountain we realized it was just crowded there.
This picture was taken on the way to Chair 12 looking back at the main part of the mountain. Chair 3 and 23.
Looking towards the east. You can see that the snow is only on the mountain.

Tom's new Toy

Tom ordered his own birthday present. The gun is really an automatic BB gun that shoots small yellow plastic BBs. It looks scary but the only thing he could do with it was shoot holes in the snow on the balcony. He shot at the trees but the BBs just bounced off.

Birthday trip to Bishop

Bishop was beautiful but I didn't get any pictures. We went to The Mesa to drop off things from Jojoba and add to our mess in the garage. I finally got a picture of my favorite sign.

Our bathroom vanity

The vanity was carried upstairs ready to install in the bathroom. The new shower door & medicine cabinet have been ordered. I was really getting excited until Tom pointed out the flaw in the cabinet front. Can you find it?

Tom's Family here for his Birthday

His 62nd birthday isn't until the 13th but we had a great time with Stewart, Chris and Savannah. Pictured above is Tom, Stewart and Savannah

It's SNOWING - finally

I am able to get pictures on line but I am only trying one picture at a time. It is sooo very slow and when I have tried to download several pictures at a time it just doesn't happen.

Stewart, Chris & Savannah visit

Tom's birthday is this month so Stewart and family came to celebrate his 62nd. Tom has been sick so it was a quiet visit while we watched it rain and snow. They left early Sunday morning because they had to drive through the storm and were unsure how the roads would be.

Finally we have SNOW!!!

I promised to add pictures and a snow update but at that time we only got 3inches more on the mountain and none in town. Yesterday it stopped raining and started snowing and the mountain now reports 30 inches and we have plenty in town. I am not able to get pictures added but I think it is because of the storm and will try again soon.

We are in Mammoth

Last night the mountain reported 2" of snow and we had almost as much in town. Tom is really sick so we spent the day buying cold and muscle ache remedies. I grocery shopped, shopped for paint for the bathroom, got mail and Tom tried to feel better. I have not taken pictures but hope to have some of the new snow that is supposed to fall tonigh

I spent Monday with Waylon and Anna

We are now in Mammoth (It is snowing). I am using Verizon Wireless to get on line and send the pictures I took on Monday when I spent the day in San Clemente with Anna and Waylon. Totally innocent but he was headed for the wires behind the computer to his right and stopped looking like he had no plan to attack the wires when his mother called his name.
The dog is really interested in Waylon's shoe. I had a great day !
The Dogs are safe for now but soon he will be climbing this fence.

Golf in Salome

We discovered our golf course - I thought I wasn't very good at golf but all it took was the correct course for my style golf and Tom played well too.
Sand Trap which was only distinguised by a slight indent and a rake
Beautiful views. We stayed in a campground next to the course.

More Pictures of Quartzsite

Jody Miller is parked next to us and she is taking pictures of me taking pictures.
If you look closely brother Dave is parked out there among the masses. There were less people here this year but still seemed like a lot to me. The WINs had about 190 people coming and going.

I am at Anna's house visiting Waylon and they have WiFi. I guess when I have a good connection I can get pictures on this Blog.

We are now at Jojoba -Sat. Feb 3, 2007

I just tried to add a picture but no go. We drove 6 hours from Salome to Jojoba with no problems, little traffic and fairly decent roads. We gassed up just before the California border, we are getting almost 10 miles/gal. It was so cold this morning that Tom could see his breath in the living room. We got a good start and the time difference between Az and Ca made us look especially early. We plan to shop and regroup then head to Mammoth in the middle of the week. The new Mammoth bathroom vanity arrived yesterday Fedex Freight so I am anxious to do the remodel. Hopefully I will be able to get on line with a good enough connection that I can send pictures.
