This is the view of my work area from the balcony. Great weather. If you look carefully my image is in the window.

All Systems = GO
Ready to Travel
Tom has changed the kayak racks to the new car leaving the truck looking naked and the FJ overwhelmed. It seems like lots of work but the new car is so much more comfortable and fun to drive it is worth it.
The picture below is of our mountains as seen from The Mesa.
We have not had any fires here but the smoke from So Cal has certainly traveled here. Our allergies are killing us but we are not the type to stay indoors. I can't even imagine how horrible it must be near the fires.

Back from Reno
We just returned after 3 nights in Reno to get the new car ready to tow and add the accessories we wanted on the car. Everything went well but we were glad to get home. The picture below was taken just before we left at the Bishop Country Club. If you look in the parking lot by Tom's rt elbow you will see our FJ.
I will add pictures later of the car with racks etc.

Reno to Mammoth 10/13/07
I got so excited about the new car I forgot to show the pictures I took on the drive. I followed Tom in the rig with the FJ Cruiser. We drove out to Fallon and down Hwy 95 then headed back west to 395 just north of Mono Lake. This saved us several high passes that we always dread on 395.
The awsome views were just too much for me so these were taken while driving, just pointing and hoping.
The snow was amazing. I love these mountains.

Our new Car the FJ Cruiser
Hwy 89 to 395 Mt Shasta City to Reno 10/11/07
This time I am doing the pictures from begining of the trip on. The fall colors were beautiful and Hwy 89 has been beautifully improved with only a slight increase in traffic.
We had some rain but no wind.
When the rain stopped clouds sat in the valley.

All pictures are taken from my seat in the motorhome (thank you Tom for the clean windows)
The above picture was taken from the road into Susanville. It is a narrow windy road but beautiful views. We are in Boomtown west of Reno but there are no pictures past Susanville because it got too ugly to take pictures.

We are using Boomtown as a base while we car shop in Reno and hope to see Stewart and family.

The Motorhome View - Hwy 5
I decided to show the view from my seat in the motorhome. We are driving south on hwy 5 from Oregon to Weed, CA. We had rain and some wind but it was a nice drive. The pictures are in reverse order with the picture below being our exit to the KOA compground. This is our first experience with this type of campground and we hope it will be our last.
Rest Stop -Oregon Hwy 5
We had a great time in Bandon but are glad to be back on the road. We feel like birds that began to migrate too late. We are as wet as we have ever been after being in the rain since we left the river. The rig is leaking in places we have never seen before and just want to get to Bishop so we can dry out.
