Our wood for the year was delivered

Our Neighbors annoying house

We have begun our defense. We planted 10 trees that are 15-20 feet tall and some of the rootballs were over 400 lbs. What a project and we got to mostly watch. Below is the before picture and the doublewide to the right is the reason he had to build his house so close to the property line. He has to remove the doublewide when his house is finished but he wanted to use it until the new one was built so his reasoning for building so close. There are more trees to be planted. We will block him out soon. Watch the progress.

Our Evening View

We can't get enough of this view.
Above, our view from the hot tub.

The Gazebo form many directions.

This is our favorite view, where just the two of us sit.

Our wires

The birds hang out and rest between feeding frenzies. The Swallows eat the evening mosquitos and other small insects.

More River Pictures

Snow - May 4th -

We went to Colville for supplies and had rain and sleet most of the drive but when we got home south of Ione there was a section of snow. It covered the road and could be seen on the fairway at the Serendipity Golf course.

We're HOME Thur May 3, 2007

It has taken us over a month of travel but we are finally at our place on the Pend Oreille River. We didn't have any surprises and we are getting things up and running.
The dock and Gazebo look good except some of the paint on the dock peeled off. Not bad for a severe winter. The Gazebo roof still looks good.

The neighbor house is behind us and will soon be blocked by a row of trees and bushes.

The river looks high but nothing scary. It is raining but is supposed to be sunny for the weekend.

Driving to Coeur D Alene Elks

Dave beat us there and unfortunately I didn't get a picture of him only his rig. When we crossed the state line into Idaho there was snow on the mountains.

Montana had snow too. We seem to have bad luck when it comes to weather for driving.

Bearmouth Campground

We had planned another night at a truck stop but when we saw this campground at the side of the road we couldn't resist.
A noisy campground (train and road) but a great setting and Fabulous Food.

We are at the RIVER

When we arrived last night I got on line and downloaded the Wyoming, Montana pictures and after that nothing will download. The Blog tells me my connection is not good enough. It is raining so maybe the clouds are causing problems. We are going to Colville to stock up on supplies then tomorrow to Ione. I will add the pictures from the remainder of our journey and the river.

Wyoming into Montana - Hwy 25 & 90

We drove more miles than usual but I started driving and that cut back on pictures but not much to photograph. Here are what I consider the most representative of our views.
Above is a montana copper strip mine but it didn't look that bad, I think they have really made them clean things up.

Wyoming is easy driving but really nothing to look at except grass that looks like it was just mowed and a few sage bushes mixed in.
