More pictures now that I am on line

Waylon is fascinated by Tom's cleaning poles.meanwhile back at the park from our visit on St. Pat's Day

Waylon loves to drive

I added this picture by mistake - The golf cart Austin loaned us while we were in the park. We hate to leave but too many reasons to go. Waylon was king of the road.

Our last days at Jojoba

"Tom is this the horn?" Outside enjoying the great weather. The chair is more fun than the toys.

Fun being Grandma

We are now in Yuma at the VFW/BLM property and I am able to get on line with my cell phone so I am downloading the promised pictures.

Jojoba Hills

We are still in Jojoba Hills and had a wonderful visit with Anna and Waylon on Monday but the connection here is soooo bad I cannot get the pictures to download. I have tried every trick I know but nothing has worked so far. I have a new camera and great pictures but they will have to wait. I will keep you updated with words so you know where we are but no pictures until we leave here. The present plan is to leave on Friday morning but this is subject to change.

The bathroom is almost complete

We are finally considering the bathroom finished for this year and the tools are being put away. When we return in the fall hopefully the mirror and backsplash will have arrived from the company so we can totally finish.

We skied Thursday & Friday - Great Snow

When the storm ended we were left with great snow and no people. We will drive back to Jojoba Hills Saturday then unsure what will happen when.

Wednesday Morning - March 21

We woke to a blanket of snow. The mountain says they got 4-6 inches but we got less in town.

It began to snow

Only minutes after I took the no snow pictures I looked out and it had started to snow.

The bathroom vanity is in

Tom finished most of the bathroom just before we left last week but I forgot to take a picture.

No Snow - March 20th

We drove north today from Jojoba Hills with the last load of things from our shed in Jojoba We were surprised to see how little snow there was left. The roofs are almost completely bare.

Great Mother and Son

Anna has done a great job raising my Grandson. She spent a year of her life nursing and giving Waylon the best start in life he could get. Great Job.

Playing in the Park - St Patrick's Day

Waylon crawls to the climbing wall but not sure what to do with it. The underside of the gym set is interesting.
I am really there watching Waylon explore.

We visit Anna, Aaron & Waylon

We went looking at houses because they hope to buy a larger home. Tom and Aaron are headed to the golf course and Waylon, Anna and I are going to the park.

The snow is melting fast

When we arrived in Mammoth a week ago the yard was completely covered with snow. It was predicted to get hotter so when we get back the snow will be completely gone unless it suddenly gets cold again. A new storm is predicted next week but it will be rain if temps don't change.

The new Toilet is in.

Painting is finished and the toilet is in. New medicine cabinet and light fixture.

Tom decides to show us how to use the toilet.

The remodel continues

The new faucet is installed. Another view of the faucet.
The painting is almost finished - The toilet will be removed next so the second coat of paint can be finished.

Leaving Mammoth

We spent yesterday in Bishop getting the oil changed on the truck and taking a bike ride through town. It was over 80 degrees and only 20 degrees cooler in Mammoth. The snow is melting fast and skiing is a challange with ice early then quickly turning to slush. We are headed south to do our taxes in Lancaster then we will go to Jojoba Hills.
I have finally figured out the picture problem. It takes about 15 minutes to download pictures using the cell phone and no amount of time using dialup. I have tried with dialup waiting half an hour and still no luck. My minutes on the cell phone are running short this month so I will wait until I get down south and can use wifi. We plan to spend some time this weekend with Anna, Aaron and Waylon so I can probably do pictures then. I have been taking pictures of the bathroom remodel so I can add all of them plus pictures of the melting snow.

Stewart, Chris & Savannah's House in Tahoe

Stewart and Chris are busy cooking a delicious dinner. After dinner layed back and enjoying our stay
We had breakfast at the B & B Sunday morning with the family then we drove back to Carson City and shopped a little before heading home. We are in Mammoth and Doug is here. Forgot to take pictures of Friday when Tina was here and we all skied. I took the camera but that is as far as it got. Tina had to go home today before we arrived but Doug is here for a few more days.

We drive to Carson City then Tahoe

We drove by Mono Lake and it was beautiful but driving by at 65 mph did not do the picture justice. We shopped for the bathroom remodel in Carson City then headed to Stewart's (Tom's son) house in Tahoe.
Emerald bay was beautiful and there was no traffic so we could stop for a picture.
Emerald Bay and ski mountains in the background as we drove by.

Skiing on Thursday

It was such a great day that we ate at the bottom of chair 14 so we could ski longer The view of the run we ski - I took the picture while I was eating at the outdoor cafe.

New Shower Door

We are one step closer to our new bathroom. It snowed this morning so we spent time patching and getting ready to paint.

The view from my table

I am sitting at my work station while they are putting in the new shower doors. I just sat in my seat to take the picture. I wanted to show you why I spend so much time on line in Mammoth.

Skiing Tuesday - March 6, 2007

View towards the bottom of chair 14. The run was just groomed and really beautiful.
I feel so small and insignificant when I ski among these views.

The upstairs Bathroom Remodel

Tom and Doug (my nephew) tore the bathroom apart and put the old counter, sink and faucet in the dumpster. The new shower door should be installed today We will start prepping the walls so I can paint.
The toilet will be the last piece to be torn out.

More Skiing

Looking back towards the lakes basin while riding up the Eagle lodge chair. The views from the backside of the mountain towards Yosemite. If you look closely you can usually see half dome.

Skiing Monday - March 5, 2006

The weather wass almost too hot and the snow did get slushy by the end of the day. A great day of skiing.

We are in Mammoth Sunday March 4th

We had a good drive with no traffic compared to the other trips this winter. It was really windy in Temecula and again at Cajone Pass but no wind in the Owens Valley. We stopped at the Mesa to drop off things we are taking out of the shed at Jojoba. It was beautiful with no wind and 63 degree temp.
View from our backyard in Bishop
Our view of Mammoth Mountain - look at all of the cars headed south.
