I have reactivated our first blog because most of the reasons I started the 07 blog have been resolved, and I didn't feel 07 worked in 08. I also felt starting a new blog each year wasn't the answer either.
I have contracted to get a Directway satellite dish again and if all works as planned I will have a dish at the condo and one on the rig. I have started a Flickr account and plan to show my view photos there. I have been having a good time exploring new options during the storms and hope to eliminate the frustrating time and energy it takes to use a cell phone to complete these tasks.
Check out the last few entries on this sight for the last of 07 and the beginnning of 08 then procede to http://www.mcmorrow.blogspot.com/ for our continued adventures.

2007 In Review
The map below is of our travels for 2007. We covered a lot of ground but most of that was done in the spring and fall. We spent most of the summer at the top of the map which is our place on the Pend Oreille River. It was great traveling but we hit bad weather in both the spring and fall so we may spend more time this summer traveling and stay put somewhere when the weather is poor.

A break in the storm

The storm begins Jan 3, 2008
North on Hwy 395
As we neared Bishop the steady stream of cars leaving Mammoth was something to behold. We were just ahead of the storm and Tom had to talk fast to the CHP so we could get to the Mesa (north of Bishop, where all high profile rigs were being stopped) to park the rig.
The picture below was taken south of Lone Pine at the visitors center.

Kramer Junction
I have no pictures but want to tell our story. We are camped for the night at Kramer Junction off the road in a big dirt lot. We started this morning leaving Yuma with news that storms were coming towards Mammoth. We had planned to stop at the Salton Sea and then venture tomorrow towards Victorville to pick up our invertor but changed our plans because of the storm.
We ended up driving straight through and picked up the inverter at about 4:00. The storm is due in tomorrow night so we will hit Bishop in time to winterize the rig then get to Mammoth before it hits. We got a call late this afternoon from Mono County that the storm should drop between 5 and 10 feet of snow with 100 mph winds and they recommend that we have supplies to last at least 72 hours, so we are going to shop and get to Mammoth in time to enjoy the storm from the safety of the condo. This seems really exciting and we are looking forward to all of this. Happy New Year and hope you all have as much fun as we are.

New Year's Eve 2008
We went to the VFW with the WINs and had a great time. We even got Tom to dance. The WINs were almost the only people there with lots of food and good cheer. We were parked within walking distance so no driving involved and at 9 which is RV midnight we had a great fireworks show that Maniac Mike, Tom and Bob (largest face below) put on after the bag piper finished.

Avalon Eleanor Davis born 12/21/07
This picture was taken when Avalon was less than 2 hours old. Anna makes it look like it was sooo easy.
A beautiful family, being recorded. For more pictures look at Anna's blog www.davisfamilyphotos.blogspot.com It may take a few days for photos.

More beach time with Waylon
There were so many great pictures of my two favorite boys that I couldn't decide. I actually only added a few of the many pictures I took.
As you look at these pictues of water play keep in mind these were taken Dec. 18th. There really are good reasons why So Cal has so many people.
More views from Doheny CG
The man who appears to be walking on water was actually standing on what looked like a surf board and used a long paddle to go across the bay. We saw him several days but this picture had such a different look I couldn't resist.
Watching the sun set from our new camp site. We moved up to the front row and plan to get reservations next year for this row.

When we left San Diego we went to the Oceanside Elks which was nice but no ocean views and too far away from San Clemente. Anna drove me around to all of the San Clemente campgrounds and we fell in love with this one in Dana Point. We had not found this on line because it has a 34ft limit which seems to be totally ignored except in the on line description.
A view of our site then below the view from our site near sunset.
